This book, structured like an exhibition, starts with artists and their works to explore the concept of the multiple in society, aiming to present the expression and establishment of plural identities as one of the most significant humanist advances in history.
Artistic creation and the discovery of artworks serve as the primary means of challenging and escaping binary representations of the self. As it is primarily in this intermediary, transitional space that individuals can engage with models of existence that are at once complex, other, fragmented, strange, and familiar.
Models and the fictional worlds that host them encourage the emergence of intimate and relational collectives, whether from the past or yet to come, capable of defying the established order and asserting alternative lives, reformulations of reality, and our rights to exist.
